Ever wondered what a typical day looks like for a self-employed coach—especially one working in the field of ontological coaching right here in Singapore?

Here’s a breakdown of how I often spend my workday as an ontological coach in Singapore:
💠 2–3 coaching sessions (1 hour each) — These are powerful one-on-one sessions where I hold space for clients to reflect, shift perspectives, and take meaningful action.
💠 1 hour of offline coaching support — This includes following up with clients, curating personalized handouts, and reflecting on session notes to support their growth journey.
💠 2 hours engaging online — I spend time connecting with individuals in my network who are passionate or interested about personal development and ontological coaching to exchange ideas, share insights, brainstorm possible collaboration opportunities, or even discuss potential client arrangements with me.
💠 2 hours of learning —Whether it’s reading coaching books, online resources, or attending webinars, I make time to continuously hone my practice and make sure I keep abreast with the latest industry developments.
The Truth Behind the Freedom and Flexibility
While being self-employed offers flexibility, it also comes with trade-offs.I’ve taken over a 90% pay cut compared to my previous 9–6 job. And yet, I work just as hard—if not harder.
So why do I keep doing this?
Because with every session, with every coaching-related activity I engage in, I grow. I become a better coach. I’m able to serve my clients more powerfully and impactfully.
That’s the real reward.
The more I coach, the more I learn.
The more I learn, the better I coach.
The better I coach, the more lives I can touch.
It’s a cycle of growth and service that keeps me energized – even when the financial rewards are still catching up, and may take a long time to catch up.
The Power of Compounding Efforts
Like compound interest, consistent action and intentional learning stack up. Slowly, but surely, they create transformation—both in my work and in my life.
So my advice?
Keep doing.
Keep learning.
Pour your learning into your doing.
Eventually, the growth—and yes, even the income—will come. 🌱
